Samsung Frame TV in a Custom Built-In — Arden Area Install

This Arden job was one of those installs where everything lines up perfectly — a beautifully built custom entertainment center, a Samsung Frame TV, a Sonos soundbar, and a homeowner who wanted zero visible wires. That's exactly what we delivered.

The Setup

The homeowners had a custom built-in entertainment center — floor-to-ceiling cabinetry with a dedicated recessed panel in the center for the TV. It was clearly designed with a large TV in mind, and they'd chosen a Samsung Frame TV to complete the look.

The Frame TV is the perfect match for a built-in like this. When it's off, it displays artwork and looks like a framed piece on the wall rather than a black rectangle. In a space this intentional, that matters.

Mounting the Frame TV in a Built-In

Mounting inside a built-in requires a bit more planning than a standard drywall mount. The back panel of the cabinet isn't always backed by studs in the right spots, so I always check before committing to a mounting location.

In this case, we had good structure to work with. The Frame TV went on a low-profile flush mount — the Frame is designed to sit close to the wall, and a slim mount keeps it looking like it belongs in the space rather than floating out from it.

Getting the height exactly right is critical in a built-in. There's usually less flexibility than on an open wall, so I take extra time to measure, confirm with the homeowner, and double-check before drilling.

Integrating the Sonos Soundbar

The Sonos soundbar sits on the shelf directly below the TV — a common and clean setup. The key is making sure the soundbar cable disappears just like the TV cables do.

We routed all wiring through the cabinet structure so nothing is visible from the front. No cable channels, no surface-mounted raceways — just clean walls and a finished look from every angle.

Why Hidden Wires Matter More in a Built-In

On a standard wall, a dangling cable is an eyesore. Inside a custom built-in, it's a dealbreaker. The whole point of a built-in entertainment center is that it looks intentional and finished. A visible wire running down the side completely undermines that.

This is one of the most common things I see when homeowners try to do their own installs — they get the TV up fine, but the wiring is an afterthought. In a built-in especially, the wiring plan needs to come first.

Arden TV Mounting

I work throughout the Arden-Arcade area and across Sacramento regularly. Whether it's a custom built-in, a fireplace mount, or a standard wall install, the goal is always the same: solid mount, clean wiring, looks like it was always there.
