The Setup: TV, Soundbar, No Wires
This Roseville job is a perfect example of what a lot of people are after but aren't sure how to ask for: TV on the wall, soundbar mounted below it, and not a single wire in sight.
The customer already had their soundbar — it wasn't a brand-specific model with a proprietary mounting system. It was one of those situations where the manufacturer's mount just doesn't cut it, or doesn't exist at all. That's where a quality 3rd-party soundbar bracket comes in.

Using a 3rd-Party Soundbar Bracket
Not every soundbar has a dedicated wall-mount solution from the brand. Some do — but even then, the OEM bracket is often flimsy or doesn't position the bar where you actually want it. Third-party soundbar mounts give you a lot more flexibility.
For this install, I used a universal soundbar bracket designed to be installed independently of the TV mount. That matters because you want the soundbar to sit cleanly below the TV with consistent spacing — not floating at some awkward angle based on the TV bracket's geometry.
What makes a good soundbar mount:
I located the studs, set the bracket level, and anchored it solid. The soundbar sits clean and level under the TV like it was always meant to be there.
Running Wires Inside the Wall
This is the part most people don't want to DIY — and honestly, that's fair. Cutting into drywall, fishing cables down through insulation, and patching it all back up cleanly takes the right tools and some experience.
For this Roseville install, both the TV power and the soundbar connections ran behind the wall. Here's the basic approach:
Power outlet relocation: I installed a recessed in-wall power kit behind the TV location. That moves the outlet back so the TV cord disappears into the wall. The power then routes down to an outlet at floor level — no extension cords, no exposed cables running down the wall.
HDMI and audio routing: The signal cables (HDMI, optical, or whatever the soundbar needs) also go behind the wall. I fish a low-voltage cable channel alongside the power drop so everything comes out cleanly at the same exit point.
The exit point: Down at the baseboard, there's a matching low-voltage plate where all the cables emerge. It's neat, intentional-looking, and easy to access if you ever need to swap cables.

The Result
The finished setup is exactly what it should be — TV flat against the wall, soundbar centered underneath it, nothing hanging down. From across the room it looks like it came that way from the factory.
The one remaining wire you can see in the room is coming out at the baseboard, which is normal and expected. That's where your HDMI or streaming device connects. Everything above the baseboard is clean.
