When the Cabinet Comes First
Most TV installs start with a blank wall. This one was different. A customer in El Dorado Hills had a brand-new custom built-in cabinet just finished — beautifully made, with a dedicated opening right in the center for the TV. They called me to come add the Samsung and make it look like it belonged there.
That's actually a great way to do it. When the space is designed around the TV from the start, the end result looks intentional and clean. No guesswork, no patching around mistakes.

Getting the Mount Right Inside a Cabinet
Mounting inside a cabinet opening is a little different than mounting on an open wall. You're working in a confined space, and the mount needs to sit the TV at exactly the right depth so it doesn't stick out past the cabinet face or sit awkwardly recessed.
For this install I used a low-profile fixed mount — the goal was a flush, clean look that matched the craftsmanship of the cabinet itself. I located the studs or backing behind the cabinet panel, set the mount level, and got the TV sitting right in the pocket.
The wiring went straight back through the cabinet — no exposed cables anywhere. Clean from every angle.

The Finished Look
When it's done right, the TV just looks like it grew there. The Samsung sits centered in the cabinet opening with the shelving on both sides and the upper cabinet above — it reads as one composed piece of furniture, not a TV bolted to a wall.
This is exactly the kind of install I enjoy. The homeowner put serious thought and money into the design — my job was to execute the TV portion at the same level.
